Divorce In A Box
Divorce options that save you tens of thousands of dollars
3 FLEXIBLE MEDIATED DIVORCE PACKAGE OPTIONS
STRAIGHTFORWARD PRICING | COMPASSIONATE CONSULTING
Few divorce firms are straightforward about the real cost to separate and divorce. Even fewer will give you the realistic prices of their processes upfront. At Open Space Mediation, we offer transparent pricing structures.
We want you to GET UNSTUCK, GET CLOSURE, DEESCALATE, SAVE MONEY, and GET ON WITH YOUR LIFE. Because every family has better things to do with their time, energy, and money than pour it into a divorce.
How much does it cost to get divorced?
That’s like asking “how long is a piece of string”. The fact is that nobody can predict exactly how much it’s going to cost to divorce - but we can make it a lot easier to guesstimate and plan out! WIth our Divorce In A Box Bundles, we provide a straightforward path through divorce that focuses on collaboration, communication, and forward-looking problem solving. Ultimately, however, it comes down to you and your spouse.
The cost of your divorce is going to be a combination of the following:
Benefits
COST
The average cost of divorce is $18,000 per person in the US. Enough said.
COLLABORATION
Divorce, ideally, is a collaborative process involving the two parties and the divorce professionals. At OSM, we focus on collaboration, as we know it’s the most efficient way through a sometimes scary terrain.
COMMUNICATION
A streamlined divorce process doesn’t happen without open communication, and that’s what we both teach and practice. This is especially vital if you have children - they are always front and center of the divorce process and building good communication skills are vital to keeping their best interest front and center.
Why You Should Work With Me
Liz Merrill is a Mediator and a Divorce Coach with a specialization in High Conflict and Narcissistic relationships. She lectures regularly on high conflict divorce strategies and is a sought-after speaker and podcast guest.
She also engages in regular pro bono work for families who are experiencing financial hardship and offers pro bono services through various nonprofits and the Colorado Court system.
Her understanding of psychological and physiological reactions to trauma, conflict, and anxiety brings a holistic approach to her work with families caught in the High Conflict cycle.
After her own litigious high-conflict divorce, she saw the need for a holistic approach to divorce mediation, which included non-violent communication skills, managing trauma, and an understanding of how personality traits and personality disorders create high conflict in a divorce.
When she started working as a mediator for the courts, she discovered how badly equipped most divorce professionals are to manage the specific needs of people in high conflict relationships and how damaging it can be to the individuals and, most importantly, the children and family systems. Now she helps hundreds of people in crisis find workable solutions so they can reduce anxiety, save money, and move on with their lives.
A mediated divorce settlement not only costs less than a litigated divorce - it also puts the outcome in the hands of the parties - not the court.
Nobody wants the court to decide their future. When you mediate instead of litigate your divorce, you are taking control of outcomes, your children's lives, your financial outlook, and, ultimately, your future.
Liz was wonderful to work with and presented well-balanced thoughts so that my ex and I could work through a painful process with much less pain. With her assistance we were able to navigate the obstacles of our separation and stay on point rather than get lost in emotional bickering. I'm thrilled that she was able to help us get through and still remain cordial throughout the separation. I highly recommend Liz at Open Space Mediation to help support you and your loved ones through one of the harder discussions in your life. "

We had a fantastic experience with Liz at Open Space Mediation! Entering into a mediation scenario is stressful, but she made it a lot easier. Liz gave the option of a call prior to mediation to understand expectations and provide a safe place to ask questions. During the mediation, Liz was professional, polite, and made sure that everyone felt heard and that their needs were met in the conversation. She also provided a follow-up call to make sure we were satisfied with the experience. I would definitely recommend calling upon Liz for any mediation needs you may have!

You don't have to have a lawyer to participate in mediation. In fact, many mediators discourage having a lawyer present because they're concerned that the presence of attorneys will create tension. Either way, though, you have the option of consulting with a lawyer before and after mediation - or during. If your spouse will have one there, it's in your best interest to hire one, too. Otherwise, you'll likely be at a disadvantage in the negotiations....
